Buick has expanded its GL8 PHEV family with the launch of the new GL8 Lushang Comfort DG Edition, priced at RMB 229,900. Positioned as a mid-to-large plug-in hybrid MPV, the vehicle is powered by Buick’s self-developed “Zhenlong” plug-in hybrid system, which combines a 1.5T deep Miller-cycle engine, an Ultium-standard plug-in hybrid battery, and a dual-motor (P1+P3) electric drive unit, all paired with a two-speed DHT transmission. The system’s drive motor delivers a maximum output of 160 kW and peak torque of 330 N·m, achieving an impressive motor efficiency of 97.8%. It is equipped with a 24.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a CLTC-rated all-electric range of 142 km. Exterior styling follows Buick’s PURE Design philosophy, featuring a dot-matrix grille, full-width LED lighting, and privacy glass. The vehicle measures 5,219 mm in length, 1,878 mm in width, and 1,807 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,088 mm. Inside, the cabin features dual 12.3-inch central displays and supports Apple CarPlay, continuing the GL8 series’ hallmark practicality and user-friendly design.
