In a Q&A session with netizens published on April 3, Xiaomi Auto stated that the vehicle recently dismantled during its live-streamed teardown event was a production model of the new-generation SU7 Pro, identical in quality to the vehicles purchased by consumers. After the teardown, the car will be reassembled and subsequently used for display and internal testing purposes, and will not be sold as a retail vehicle. The company also plans to release a complete assembly video to further showcase details of its manufacturing processes. Regarding safety performance, Xiaomi Auto said the entire new-generation SU7 lineup is equipped with bullet-resistant coating, offering scratch resistance, impact resistance, and puncture resistance to effectively protect the battery pack from damage caused by underbody impacts, scraping, or sharp objects. In terms of thermal safety, the vehicle features an inverted prismatic cell design with pressure-relief valves oriented downward and dedicated venting channels. In the event of thermal runaway, high-temperature, high-pressure gases are directed downward and rapidly expelled outside the vehicle through these channels. Combined with dual large-surface water-cooling plates and high-temperature-resistant aerogel insulation, this system minimizes the risk of thermal propagation and ensures occupant safety.
