NIO's Firefly will hold a refreshed upgrade launch event on April 7. The company stated that it will provide existing owners with ongoing upgrade options, ensuring they can obtain a product experience consistent with the refreshed model through designated channels, though specific upgrade details have not yet been disclosed. Firefly began its first deliveries on April 29, 2025, and by late March 2026, cumulative deliveries had reached 50,000 units. The vehicle measures 4,003 mm in length, 1,781 mm in width, and 1,557 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,615 mm. It is equipped with a standard 42 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of 420 km. Power comes from a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 105 kW, delivering a peak torque of 200 N·m and a top speed of 150 km/h. Additionally, NIO celebrated the rollout of its one-millionth production vehicle on January 6, 2026. Qin Lihong, Co-Founder and President of NIO, subsequently outlined the company’s 2026 business strategy, centered on “selling great cars, delivering excellent service, and building robust infrastructure.” In terms of products, NIO will focus sales efforts on mid-to-high-end large vehicles. Regarding its sales network, the company plans to open integrated stores in lower-tier markets with established sales foundations, offering all three brands—NIO, Onvo, and Firefly—under one roof; the first batch of these stores opened before the Chinese New Year. On infrastructure, NIO will continue accelerating the expansion of its charging and battery-swap network.
