Nissan has announced that it will unveil two new concept vehicles and the first SUV of its NEV N-Series—Dongfeng Nissan NX8—for the first time at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, which opens on April 24, 2026. The two concept cars are positioned as a rugged off-roader and a midsize SUV, respectively, both featuring the brand’s latest design language. Specific technical specifications have not yet been disclosed. The Dongfeng Nissan NX8 is the series’ first range-extended electric SUV, offered with limited-time promotional pricing from RMB 149,900 to RMB 199,900. Built on an 800V silicon carbide platform, the NX8 is equipped with CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries and supports 5C ultra-fast charging technology. It measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,917 mm. The A-pillar uses 2,000 MPa ultra-high-strength steel, and over 70% of the vehicle’s body structure is composed of high-strength steel. The NX8 features the YunDun Battery 2.0 system, engineered for a service life exceeding 600,000 kilometers. In terms of powertrain, the range-extended version combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine (maximum output: 109 kW) with an electric motor (maximum output: 195 kW). The all-electric variant offers two single-motor configurations with peak outputs of 215 kW and 250 kW, respectively. For intelligent systems, the NX8 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, includes the AI voice assistant “Nico,” and integrates Momenta’s advanced driver-assistance solution. This system incorporates 29 high-performance sensors and supports urban and highway navigation-assisted driving (NOA) as well as automated parking assistance, delivering 22 active safety features.
