On April 16, Dongpeng Special Drink announced it has become the global title sponsor of Zhang Xue Motorcycles’ World Superbike Championship (WSBK) team. At the event, Zhang Xue stated his goal of winning a WSBK Riders’ World Championship title within three years and offered fans 500 signed caps and five on-site spectator passes, with all related expenses covered by Zhang Xue Motorcycles. Previously, Zhang Xue Motorcycles claimed victory at the WSBK round in Portugal. On April 3, China’s first WSBK championship-winning motorcycle—the Zhang Xue 820RR—officially rolled off the production line and began customer deliveries. The model starts at RMB 43,800, delivers a maximum output of 135 PS, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.81 seconds. The official ordering page specifies that due to the 820RR’s high-performance capabilities, which may be difficult for novice riders to handle safely, customers with less than one year of motorcycle riding experience are prohibited from purchasing the bike. If a rider with less than one year of experience manages to purchase the motorcycle through a dealer, they can report the sale to the manufacturer. Upon verification, the whistleblower will receive a RMB 5,000 reward.
