Siemens and UK-based AI and robotics company Humanoid announced that the HMND 01 wheeled Alpha humanoid robot, developed using NVIDIA's Physical AI technology, has successfully completed operational testing at Siemens’ electronics factory in Germany. Designed specifically for industrial environments, the robot features advanced manipulation capabilities and can autonomously perform tote transportation tasks within factory logistics operations. During development, Humanoid employed a simulation-first hardware design approach, integrating NVIDIA’s full Physical AI technology stack to significantly shorten the development cycle. This test marks a milestone demonstrating that humanoid robots are now ready for deployment in real-world industrial settings and could potentially address challenges such as labor shortages and operational complexity in the future.
