Audi and SAIC Motor officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 17, announcing a deepened partnership to jointly advance the full value-chain deployment of future AUDI-branded vehicles. The two parties will establish an Audi Innovation Technology Center in Shanghai, led by AUDI AG, focusing on R&D for intelligent electrification technologies and end-to-end vehicle development across the entire intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) value chain. Based on the next-generation Advanced Digitized Platform, the collaboration will jointly develop future AUDI models, with an initial plan for four vehicle models slated for phased launch in the Chinese market over the coming years. The first-generation production model, the Audi E5 Sportback, was launched in 2025, while the brand’s first SUV, the Audi E7X, will make its global debut at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in 2026. A third model is expected to be introduced in 2027. The newly established Innovation Technology Center will prioritize the development of immersive AI-powered smart cockpits and advanced driver-assistance systems tailored specifically for China’s premium customers, supporting AUDI’s product portfolio and technological implementation in China’s luxury intelligent connected vehicle market.
