On April 16, Pony.ai and GAC Lingcheng signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Guangzhou. Leveraging GAC Lingcheng’s strengths in vehicle platforms and manufacturing systems within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, along with Pony.ai’s Level 4 autonomous driving technology, the two parties will engage in deep collaboration across “vehicle platform + autonomous driving system integration + operational scenarios” to accelerate the large-scale commercial deployment of autonomous trucks (Robotrucks) in logistics applications throughout the Greater Bay Area and nationwide. Under the partnership, GAC Lingcheng will develop a highly reliable vehicle platform and drive-by-wire chassis tailored for autonomous driving systems, while Pony.ai will provide its fourth-generation autonomous truck system solution. This system adopts the same full-redundancy architecture and safety standards as Pony.ai’s latest-generation Robotaxi, featuring a fully redundant drive-by-wire chassis with a designed service life of 20,000 hours—capable of supporting freight operations over one million kilometers. Additionally, the cost of the fourth-generation autonomous truck kit has been reduced by 70% compared to the previous generation.
