On April 16, Zhu Jiangming, CEO of Leapmotor, stated after the company's new vehicle launch event that expanding scale is more important than pursuing profitability, as long as the company remains non-loss-making. He noted that the pace of new vehicle launches in China's auto market continues to accelerate, with approximately 1,278 new models expected to debut in 2025—averaging about 3.5 per day—nearly 200 of which will be entirely new models. Zhu emphasized that the industry has entered a phase of intense competition and consolidation, with severe internal rivalry, and it will likely take two to three years for the market to return to normalcy. Against this backdrop, Leapmotor will focus on scaling up to strengthen its competitiveness. On the same day, six new vehicles were launched simultaneously in China, and with the Beijing Auto Show approaching, automakers are further intensifying their new model rollouts, reflecting their urgency to capture market share.
