Former Honor CEO Zhao Ming joined Qianli Technology in February 2026 and officially assumed the role of Co-Chairman on March 3. Recently, in a public video, he spoke for the first time about his experience transitioning from the smartphone industry to the field of intelligent driving, noting that both industries share a common emphasis on deep exploration of foundational technologies. Zhao stated that Qianli Technology has entered into a strategic partnership with domestic large AI model company StepFun, leveraging AI foundation models to implement an end-to-end intelligent driving technology roadmap, which will significantly accelerate product iteration. He asserted that Qianli Technology is “unafraid of competition from any rival.” According to Zhao, over the past year-plus, Qianli Technology’s intelligent driving solutions have advanced rapidly. He personally traveled to Silicon Valley to experience Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system and expressed his aspiration for Qianli to reach a comparable level. After riding in the Zeekr 8X equipped with Qianli’s intelligent driving system, Zhao confidently declared it “already the best in the industry” and added, “If Tesla isn’t convinced, we’ll beat them into submission.” Public records show that Zhao Ming joined Huawei in 1998, became President of Honor in 2015, served as CEO after Honor’s spin-off from Huawei in 2020, and departed in January 2025. Qianli Technology, formerly Lifan Technology (founded in 1992), was renamed in February 2025 and now focuses on an “AI + Automotive” strategy, with Geely as a key shareholder. In the intelligent driving domain, Qianli Technology and Geely jointly developed the “Qianli Haohan G-ASD” intelligent driving system, which has been deployed across 16 models from brands including Zeekr and Lynk & Co, covering more than 300,000 vehicles. The system employs an end-to-end model architecture, integrating multimodal foundation models, vision-language models, and other AI technologies, and was upgraded to version 4.0 in March 2026. The newly launched Zeekr 8X globally debuts the “Super Eva + G-ASD 4.0” vehicle intelligence platform, co-developed by Qianli Technology, Geely, and StepFun.
