Tesla has begun rolling out to select users a feature originally designed for Robotaxis: a fully interactive rear-seat navigation map usable while the vehicle is in motion. This feature is included in the Spring 2026 software update (version 2026.14 and later). A small number of owners of the Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck have already received the 2026.14.1 update, with a wider rollout expected over the coming weeks. Previously, rear displays in Tesla vehicles only supported media controls, climate settings, and a static route overview. With this update, rear passengers can now directly interact with a real-time navigation map, enabling active route guidance. The interface was initially developed for driverless Robotaxi scenarios, aiming to allow every passenger easy access to map services. This rollout comes several months ahead of the official launch of Tesla’s Cybercab program, allowing the company to test the software in real-world driving conditions and give users an early preview of future autonomous ride-hailing features.
