Samsung SDI and Mercedes-Benz signed a multi-year electric vehicle (EV) battery supply agreement on April 15 local time, marking their first collaboration in the EV battery sector. Under the agreement, Samsung SDI will supply high-nickel nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) batteries for Mercedes-Benz’s next-generation electric vehicles. These batteries offer higher energy density, extended driving range, and longer lifespan. The signing ceremony took place at a hotel, attended by Choi Joo-sun, President and CEO of Samsung SDI; Han Jae Cho, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Sales; Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG; Jörg Burzer, Chief Technology Officer; and Mathias Vaitl, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea.
