The proposal gained traction after Ho—known for portraying tough-guy roles such as Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King of Western Chu, and Lü Bu, the "Flying General"—appeared at a 2026 Chinese Super League match dressed as Xiang Yu to support the Suqian team, sparking widespread discussion online. Some netizens suggested he become the face of the Zeekr 8X, dubbed the "new king of the road." Zeekr stated it has taken note of the social media buzz and believes the bravery and resoluteness embodied by Ho’s iconic characters align well with the Zeekr 8X’s bold presence. The company added, “That’s a great suggestion,” and expressed hope for more interactions with him in the future. The Zeekr 8X is now available for test drives at dealerships nationwide.
