SAIC Motor’s Roewe brand has recently released official interior images of the midsize plug-in hybrid sedan, the Roewe M7 DMH “Dark Horse” Edition, and announced that the vehicle will make its market debut at the Beijing Auto Show opening on April 24. Designed under the leadership of Joseph Kaban—former Design Director at Rolls-Royce and designer of the Bugatti Veyron—the new model emphasizes a “darkened aesthetic,” featuring exclusive custom paintwork, full blacked-out exterior accents, and multiple comfort-oriented features. Inside, the cabin retains the current model’s tech-forward layout while refining details. It features a dual-screen setup comprising a 15.6-inch floating central infotainment display and a fully digital instrument cluster, complemented by a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a column-mounted gear selector to create a minimalist cockpit ambiance. Both front and rear seats offer power adjustment with ventilation and heating functions; additionally, the driver’s seat and rear seats include massage functionality for the shoulders, lumbar area, and other zones. Exterior-wise, the car is finished in an exclusive blue-black paint developed through an eight-layer high-end multi-dimensional coating process, which shifts visually between deep black and vibrant blue under varying lighting conditions. Full blacked-out elements extend across the vertical-slat grille, window trim, side skirts, exterior mirrors, and 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, with even the emblem receiving a dark-tint treatment. Privacy glass is fitted on the rear windows, offering 88.5% UV and 79% infrared radiation blocking capabilities. Under the hood, the M7 DMH Dark Horse Edition is powered by Roewe’s DMH 6.0 Super Hybrid system, combining a dedicated 1.5L hybrid engine with an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum output of 82 kW and peak torque of 135 N·m, while the motor produces up to 137 kW and 330 N·m of torque. A 19.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack enables a pure-electric CLTC range of 160 km and a combined driving range of up to 2,050 km.
