The 2027 Mercedes-Benz all-electric C-Class (codenamed W520) comes standard with three screens across all trims, and this configuration cannot be deleted—even on base models. The vehicle’s MBUX system integrates three separate displays under a single glass panel: a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch central infotainment screen, and a non-touch display area called the “Digital Dynamic Panel,” which solely shows static images selected by the user from the infotainment system. To equip a touch-capable passenger-side screen, buyers must opt for the “Superscreen” package. A higher-tier “Hyperscreen” option offers a seamless, unified 39.1-inch display that eliminates the wider bezels found in other layouts—a design already introduced on the electric GLC. This all-electric C-Class is built on a dedicated EV platform and shares no technical lineage with the combustion-engine C-Class (W206) launched in 2021. The latter is expected to receive a mid-cycle refresh later in 2024, though its interior direction remains unclear. Mercedes-Benz’s current design strategy clearly favors multi-screen layouts, aligning it with rivals like BMW and Audi. Although former chief designer Gorden Wagener has stated that large screens are necessary to meet multimedia and visual reference demands, he also acknowledged in interviews that “screens do not equal luxury.” Currently, high-end models—including the 2027 S-Class and the upcoming all-electric AMG GT four-door coupe—feature triple-screen setups, making a return to traditional, finely crafted physical buttons unlikely.
