On April 21, Changan Automobile Group held a global strategy launch event, announcing its continued advancement in building three smart electric vehicle brands: Avatr, Deepal, and Qiyuan. The company aims to achieve annual production and sales of 2.4 million new energy vehicles (NEVs) by 2030, with an aspirational target of 3.6 million units. As part of this plan, Avatr and Deepal will undergo strategic integration, targeting a combined annual sales volume of 1.5 million units in the mid-to-high-end segment by 2030—comprising 500,000 units for Avatr and 1 million units for Deepal. The integration is expected to be completed by the end of that year. Over the next five years, Changan will focus on developing "mega products," streamlining its product portfolio from 63 models to 36—a reduction of 43%. The company plans to launch one global mega product with annual sales of 500,000 units and five others each achieving annual sales of 300,000 units. By 2030, Changan’s overall annual production and sales target is set at 4 million vehicles, with an ambitious goal of reaching 5 million units. NEVs are expected to account for more than 60% of total sales, while overseas market sales will represent 35% to 40% of the total volume.
