On April 21, during its Super Tech Day event, CATL unveiled the Choco Swap 26 battery pack. Built on an 800V high-voltage architecture, the initial market-ready version offers a 75 kWh capacity, with higher-capacity variants planned for future release, targeting B- and C-segment vehicles. Together with the previously launched Choco Swap 20 and 22 battery packs, this series now covers battery-swapping needs across vehicle segments from A0 to C. CATL announced that all its Choco Swap (for passenger vehicles) and Qiji Swap (for heavy-duty trucks) stations will come standard with Shenxing ultra-fast chargers, adopting an integrated ultra-fast charging and swapping station design capable of completing a battery swap in under 99 seconds while delivering a high-efficiency ultra-fast charging experience. To date, Choco Swap has partnered with 11 automakers and 18 passenger vehicle brands, covering 25 vehicle models. As of now, CATL has built 4,000 integrated ultra-fast charging and swapping stations, spanning nearly 190 cities nationwide and China’s national expressway network comprising “12 north-south and 11 east-west corridors.” The company aims to deploy over 100,000 shared energy-supply infrastructure units by the end of 2028.
