On April 23, Voyah Auto announced that its new model, the Voyah Taishan X8, had received over 20,000 pre-orders within just 20 hours of launching its pre-sale. Priced between RMB 302,900 and RMB 389,900, the Taishan X8 is positioned as a mid-to-large five-seater SUV and marks Voyah’s first strategic model launched following its Hong Kong IPO. The vehicle is scheduled to officially hit the market in May 2026. Targeting the RMB 300,000–400,000 segment for family-oriented SUVs, the Taishan X8 adopts a “spacious five-seat” layout, differentiating itself from six- or seven-seat competitors. Its cabin features Huawei’s HarmonyOS Cockpit 5.2, dual 15.6-inch displays, and a total interior space of 6.1 square meters. The second-row seats are equipped with dual zero-gravity seating, offering mechanical massage and a one-touch “bed mode” function. In terms of intelligent driving, the vehicle integrates Huawei’s Qiankun Smart Driving solution and is outfitted with four LiDAR units, including an 896-line dual-optical-path imaging-grade LiDAR. The chassis features a triple-chamber air suspension system combined with EDC Magic Carpet technology. Multiple core components of the Taishan X8 were developed through deep collaboration with Huawei, establishing technological differentiation in both smart cockpit and intelligent driving capabilities. While pre-order figures have been strong, its long-term performance in this highly competitive segment will ultimately depend on actual sales after its official launch.
