At the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, Beijing Hyundai globally debuted the IONIQ V concept car. The IONIQ V is one of the first models to make its global premiere in China under Hyundai’s IONIQ brand since its entry into the Chinese market—the other being the "Earth" concept car. IONIQ’s product naming system in China is themed around planets in the solar system and was developed under the leadership of a local design team. Built on Hyundai’s E-GMP electric vehicle platform, the IONIQ V offers both battery-electric and range-extended powertrain options, supporting 800V high-voltage fast charging and an efficient electric drive system. Externally, the vehicle features an exclusive Brilliant Gold paint finish, a monocoque body structure, a lightweight frame-style roof, transparent rear spoiler, V-shaped lighting signature, floating transparent side mirrors, brake discs inspired by the “Golden Record,” and race-inspired lightweight forged wheels. It measures 4,900 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, 1,470 mm in height, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase, and includes frameless doors and dimensional star-track-style taillights. Inside, the cabin adopts a Nebula Wrap-around cockpit layout, equipped with a 27-inch ultra-slim 4K display, nebula ambient lighting, and a Cyber Eye HUD head-up display system. For intelligent features, it integrates flagship cockpit chips from Momenta and Qualcomm, alongside CATL battery technology, Baidu’s ERNIE large AI model, and capabilities from Volcano Engine. Additionally, Hyundai Motor stated that it plans to export vehicles produced in China to overseas markets such as the Middle East and the UK in the future.
