On April 26, 2026, the launch ceremony for the new book *Going Global: Practices and Strategies of China’s Automotive Industry* was held at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Venue) in Beijing. The event was an official segment of the “2026 4th China Automotive & Components Going Global Ecosystem Conference.” Co-hosted by Gasgoo and China Machine Press, the ceremony was attended by representatives from automakers, parts suppliers, upstream and downstream industry players, and relevant institutions. The book systematically outlines the pathways and methodologies adopted by Chinese automakers and their supply chain partners in expanding overseas. It introduces the concept of “ecosystem-driven globalization,” emphasizing the synergistic role of product strength, brand power, channel capabilities, supply chain resilience, and service excellence in driving global growth. It aims to provide strategic insights and practical guidance for China’s automotive industry as it transitions from scale-driven expansion to value-driven advancement. Zhou Xiaoying, CEO of Gasgoo and one of the book’s authors, shared that the project was launched on August 27, 2025, with a first draft completed on October 30, totaling approximately 380,000 Chinese characters. The final version was refined to 200,000 characters. Due to significant shifts in industrial policies across key global markets after manuscript submission, the team undertook extensive revisions before the book went to print in April 2026. She noted that the writing process itself became a platform for industry-wide dialogue, capturing a wealth of frontline experience and expert analysis. Multilingual editions—including English, German, and Japanese—are already in preparation. Co-author Zhang Hui, Vice President of NIO Europe, remarked that although the book was completed in a short timeframe, its content draws on his nearly two decades of experience in automotive globalization, particularly his hands-on work since joining NIO in 2015. He stressed that “going global” is merely the starting point—true globalization is the long-term goal—and that Chinese automakers must shift from exporting volume to exporting value. Zhao Haiqing, Director of the Automotive Publishing Division at China Machine Press, highlighted that China has ranked as the world’s top vehicle exporter for two consecutive years and is now moving beyond simply “going out” toward truly “integrating in.” Facing challenges such as trade frictions and cultural differences, the industry urgently needs a systematic guide for international expansion. This book uniquely combines the perspectives of both industry observers and frontline practitioners, offering both strategic vision and operational depth. At the launch ceremony, Zhou Xiaoying, Zhang Hui, Zhao Haiqing joined Angela Mans of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), Xu Zheng of SAIC Motor, Yang Bo of Eaton, and Antonio Muñoz of Gestamp to officially unveil the book. Now globally available, the publication provides a conceptual framework and practical roadmap for China’s automotive industry navigating today’s complex international markets.
