At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, FAW-Volkswagen officially unveiled the ID. AURA T6, the first model under its new energy vehicle sub-brand ID. AURA. Built on Volkswagen’s all-new CEA (Centralized Electronic Architecture), the ID. AURA T6 adopts a “central computing + zonal control” technical solution and is equipped with the CoDrive Pro advanced intelligent driving assistance system. Its exterior design emphasizes “practical naturalism aesthetics,” featuring square-shaped headlights, LiDAR sensors, a fastback silhouette, robust D-pillars, 20-inch wheels, and an integrated rear spoiler with lower bumper fascia—highlighting its wheelbase-to-length ratio, extended character lines, and overall aerodynamic smoothness. In the name ID. AURA, each letter carries specific meaning: A stands for Advanced, U for User-centric, R for Reliable, and A for Accessible Anywhere; the “T” denotes Travel (indicating its SUV body style), while “6” symbolizes the “golden balance point” within the premium segment. According to FAW-Volkswagen’s roadmap, the AURA series will span multiple powertrain configurations—including battery electric vehicles (BEVs), range-extended EVs, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs)—with two BEV models scheduled for launch and market availability in 2026. Alongside the ID. AURA T6, FAW-Volkswagen simultaneously showcased four additional models—the all-new Sagitar S, the new Talagon, the Magotan PHEV, and the Tayron L PHEV—forming a five-model product matrix. The new Sagitar S continues its “German engineering, intelligence, performance, and aesthetics” identity, offering two powertrain options: a 1.5L engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 1.5T Evo2 engine mated to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox. It also features a 12.9-inch central touchscreen, full-width digital taillights, and 30-color ambient lighting. During the auto show, FAW-Volkswagen announced a strategic partnership with PetroChina, becoming the first passenger vehicle manufacturer to establish a deep ecological collaboration with the energy giant. Together, they aim to co-build an integrated “Mobility + Energy” lifecycle service ecosystem. Additionally, FAW-Volkswagen introduced an exclusive fuel subsidy program for ICE vehicles: buyers receive a RMB 1,500 PetroChina e-voucher upon purchase and are reimbursed for any increase in fuel prices over the following year. On the service front, FAW-Volkswagen launched its “Volkswagen Select – 9 Years of Companionship” benefits program, structured around “3 Responsibilities, 3 Lifetimes, and 3 Free Services.” For PHEV models, coverage includes battery fire incidents, excessive battery degradation, and powertrain failures. ICE-powered SUVs benefit from lifetime warranties on the entire vehicle and genuine parts, plus lifetime complimentary roadside assistance. All models receive free loaner vehicles, pick-up and delivery services, and complimentary vehicle health checks. As of 2025, FAW-Volkswagen’s ICE vehicle market share has grown by 0.6 percentage points against industry headwinds. The company ranked first in nine categories in China’s Automotive Customer Satisfaction Index (CACSI) and has surpassed 30 million cumulative vehicle production units, serving more than 20 million Volkswagen brand customers nationwide.
