During the Beijing Auto Show, Li Auto unveiled its 800V fully active suspension system featured on the Li Auto L9 Livis model. This system can actively lift the rear wheels when the vehicle is stuck in sand, facilitating the placement of traction boards beneath the tires; afterward, the suspension levels out to help the vehicle regain mobility. In tire-changing scenarios, the system automatically raises a single wheel, and once anti-drop supports are installed underneath the chassis, tire replacement can be completed without the need for a jack. The suspension system comprises a high-pressure hydraulic pump, air springs, and dual-valve CDC dampers, utilizing a four-wheel independent control architecture that eliminates traditional anti-roll bars. Each wheel can deliver over 10,000 newtons (approximately 1 metric ton) of lifting force, with a response time in the 10-millisecond range and capable of more than 200 dynamic adjustments per second—offering over three times the lifting capability of conventional 48V active suspension systems. While driving, the system works in tandem with sensors and the intelligent driving system to proactively identify road conditions: it actively extends the suspension to "fill in" potholes and retracts to avoid bumps, thereby minimizing ride discomfort. Additionally, the system supports practical features such as single-wheel automatic lift for tire changes and active undulating motion to assist in sand recovery.
