The Ministry of Transport recently issued a notice outlining a comprehensive plan for transportation safety and service assurance during the upcoming May Day holiday in 2026. The notice requires local authorities to effectively organize holiday transport operations to ensure safe, convenient, and smooth travel for the public. Specifically, the notice mandates enhancing charging services for new energy vehicles (NEVs) based on the "one area, one policy" principle. Authorities are instructed to proactively assess and dynamically update lists of service areas experiencing high charging demand. Measures to boost service capacity include adding more charging parking spaces, installing high-power fast chargers, deploying mobile charging units, and guiding drivers to charging facilities at opposite-direction service areas or near highway exits and entrances. Additionally, the notice emphasizes the need for orderly management of charging operations and timely public information dissemination to promptly address issues such as prolonged queues at charging stations.
