Tesla FSD Update Adds "Navigation Issue" Option to Takeover Feedback Menu

Tesla recently rolled out software update version 2026.2.9.9, featuring Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) v14.3.2, which includes adjustments to the disengagement feedback mechanism. When the system exits autonomous driving and requires manual driver takeover, a feedback menu now automatically pops up. Previously, this menu offered four categories: "Personal Preference," "Ride Comfort," "Safety-Critical Issues," and "Other Issues." The "Other Issues" option has now been replaced with "Navigation Issues." This change aims to more precisely capture navigation-related reasons for driver takeovers. Users have long reported frequent issues with FSD, such as incorrect speed limit information, suboptimal route planning, and guidance to building back entrances instead of main entrances—problems that often necessitate manual intervention. Because these navigation-related issues were previously grouped under the vague "Other Issues" category, they were difficult to isolate and optimize in training data. With the new "Navigation Issues" classification, Tesla can now clearly tag relevant disengagement events, providing its neural network models with more structured data to accelerate improvements in route planning algorithms, map accuracy, and intent-based navigation capabilities. Many users note that while the v14.x series performs well in terms of driving smoothness and safety, navigation remains FSD’s primary weakness. Common complaints include outdated map data, an inability to learn from manual corrections, and route logic that defies user intuition. Some users report that navigation issues have become the leading cause of manual takeovers—second only to extreme road conditions.
