Volkswagen has officially unveiled the all-new all-electric ID. Polo, marking the Polo family’s entry into the electric era. Built on Volkswagen’s upgraded MEB+ EV platform and featuring a front-wheel-drive layout, the ID. Polo is offered in three powertrain variants: - The 85 kW and 99 kW versions are equipped with a 37 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 329 km. They support DC fast charging up to 90 kW, enabling a 10–80% charge in approximately 27 minutes. - The 155 kW variant features a 52 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) ternary lithium battery, offering a CLTC range of 455 km and supporting 105 kW fast charging, achieving a 10–80% charge in about 24 minutes. A high-performance GTI version is scheduled for launch in 2027. Measuring 4,053 mm long, 1,816 mm wide, and 1,530 mm tall, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase, the ID. Polo benefits from optimized packaging. By relocating the electric motor away from beneath the trunk floor, luggage capacity increases to 441 liters—up from 351 liters in the combustion-engine Polo—and expands to 1,243 liters with the rear seats folded. Occupant perceived space grows by 19 mm, enhancing rear passenger comfort. The exterior design carries forward the styling language of the 2023 ID.2all concept, characterized by clean lines, bold five-spoke alloy wheels, and optional blue paintwork. Rear door handles are seamlessly integrated into the C-pillar area. The rear features a full-width light bar and an illuminated red Volkswagen logo, while the front sports a white-lit VW emblem. Pre-orders have already opened in Germany across three trim levels: Trend, Life, and Style. - The base Trend trim starts at €24,995 and includes standard features such as LED headlights, Side Assist, Lane Assist, and 90 kW fast charging. - Currently available for order is the Life trim, starting at €33,795, which adds adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging. - The top-tier Style trim further upgrades with IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, 3D taillights, illuminated logos, sport comfort seats, dual-zone climate control, and an extended ID. Light ambient lighting strip that flows into the door panels. Optional extras include a 425W Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic glass roof, and pneumatic massage function for the front seats—offering 12-way power adjustment and three massage programs. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality is standard across all trims, delivering up to 3.6 kW of external power via a Schuko adapter, suitable for charging e-bikes or powering outdoor equipment. Depending on specification, the ID. Polo can tow up to 1,200 kg. Additional variants will roll out progressively starting summer 2024.
