Under-$14K MG4 EV Debuts Semi-Solid-State Battery and Highway NOA, Bringing Advanced Tech to the Masses

The 2026 MG4 debuted during the Beijing Auto Show, offering six variants with a limited-time subsidized price range of RMB 65,800 to RMB 99,800. The model features semi-solid-state batteries, Cell-to-Body (CTB) integrated battery-chassis technology, a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 7.2 seconds, highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot), intelligent parking, a range exceeding 437 km, and a high-speed run-flat tire stability system. MG plans to roll out additional models from the MG4 family later this year—the MG4X SUV and the new energy coupe MG07. Targeting young families, the MG4X comes standard with semi-solid-state batteries even in its base variant, offering rear-wheel drive, a five-link rear suspension, and a range of 510 km. The MG07 emphasizes an advanced intelligent driving experience and will be equipped with Momenta’s R7 reinforcement learning world model. Since August 2025, MG4 sales in China have grown steadily, recently surpassing 14,000 units per month. The updated MG4 introduces multiple enhancements in exterior design, cabin comfort, and intelligent driving capabilities, including new exterior colors, co-branded artistic designs, heated/ventilated/massage/memory functions for front seats, a dual-screen cockpit layout, and support for various automated parking scenarios. MG’s sales network in China has expanded from an initial 290+ outlets to over 440, with plans to approach 500 by year-end. The company emphasizes aligning dealer service standards with its brand philosophy. Overseas, MG has delivered more than 1 million vehicles cumulatively in Europe and the UK as of February 2026. In 2025 alone, MG sold over 300,000 units in Europe—a nearly 30% year-over-year increase. MG recently hosted a Technology Day in Frankfurt to showcase technologies like semi-solid-state batteries to the European market and plans to roll out these domestically proven battery solutions globally. Demand for the MG4 in Europe remains strong, straining production capacity; MG has already established a dedicated strategic team to coordinate global capacity allocation.
