From January to March 2026, global vehicle sales reached 22.4 million units, of which 4.53 million were new energy vehicles (NEVs), accounting for 20.2% of total global vehicle sales. Breaking this down further, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) represented 13.8% of total global vehicle sales, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) accounted for 6.4%, and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) made up 7.2%. In the BEV segment, China's market share remained around 63% from 2023 to 2025 but declined to 56% in 2026.
