On May 8, SAIC-GM-Wuling officially launched and began deliveries of the Hua Jing S, its first large six-seater SUV developed in collaboration with Huawei. The vehicle is available in four variants: - 200km Qiankun Enjoy Edition (official MSRP: RMB 159,800; super trade-in price: RMB 149,800) - 255km Qiankun Premium Edition (RMB 175,800 / RMB 165,800) - 255km Qiankun Deluxe Edition (RMB 185,800 / RMB 175,800) - 235km AWD Qiankun Deluxe Edition (RMB 203,800 / RMB 193,800) The Hua Jing S measures 5,235 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,800 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. It features a three-row, six-seat layout and boasts an industry-leading interior space utilization rate of 87.4%. The vehicle offers 28 storage compartments, six independent USB charging ports, a flat floor, assist handles for second-row access, rear entertainment screens, a Harman Infinity premium audio system with 3D surround sound, plus optional smart fragrance and an onboard refrigerator. Exterior color options include Black Jade, Ivory White, Agate Grey, and Amber Blue, while interior trims come in Ivory Beige and Sandalwood Brown, with seats featuring Ice Jade-pattern stitched soft upholstery. Powering the Hua Jing S is SAIC-GM-Wuling’s first intelligent all-wheel-drive system paired with a dedicated 1.5T hybrid engine, mated to the world’s first electromagnetic hybrid-specific DHT transmission. The two-wheel-drive version delivers a maximum output of 200 kW and peak torque of 310 N·m, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. The AWD variant produces 386 kW and 620 N·m of torque, achieving 0–100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. Both versions have a top speed of 190 km/h. Under the CLTC cycle, the pure electric range is 255 km for the RWD model and 235 km for the AWD version. Equipped with CATL battery cells, the vehicle supports 3.5C ultra-fast charging—“12 minutes of charging adds more than half the range.” The electric motor achieves a peak efficiency of 97.5%, the power electronics reach 98.8% efficiency, the hybrid engine delivers a thermal efficiency of 43.2%, and the fuel consumption in low-state-of-charge conditions is 6.98 L/100 km. In terms of intelligence, the Hua Jing S comes standard across all trims with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS Pro enhanced advanced driver assistance system, CAS 4.0 comprehensive collision avoidance system, HarmonyOS Cockpit 5, and cloud-based vehicle services. The initial batch of vehicles already supports urban Navigation Cruise Assist (NCA), and includes Sentry Mode, NearLink digital key, Limera cabin laser vision solution, and seamless full-domain OTA updates. The cockpit enables multi-device content handoff, multi-zone voice recognition, and scenario-based modes such as nap and camping. The chassis employs a front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension setup, complemented by Magneti Marelli CDC electronically controlled dampers with a response time of just 10 ms. NVH performance is enhanced through 10 areas filled with BASF foam, 46 acoustic packages, full acoustic laminated glass, noise-reducing tires, and strategically placed silent steel panels. For safety, the Hua Jing S utilizes Baosteel’s 2,000 MPa ultra-high-strength steel and integrated hot-stamped components to construct a robust underbody structure with five longitudinal and eleven transverse members, a six-ring cage-type body frame, and eight anti-collision beams across all four doors. It also debuts globally the integrated hot-formed front floor frame and dual-door rings. The vehicle successfully completed the industry’s first side-impact test at 80 km/h followed immediately by a 15-meter vertical drop and rollover. The battery pack passed a single-cell 1,500 J impact test without fire or explosion, and even after two consecutive 1,500 J impacts at different locations while fully charged, the entire pack remained safe. Additionally, the car features an anti-motion-sickness function that reduces pitch angle variation by 21% and heave by 63% through coordinated control of drive, braking, and suspension systems. The Hua Jing S integrates resources from 18 core suppliers, including Fuyao Glass, Bosch, Saic Motor Technology, Nexteer, Shanghai Huizhong, Wanxiang Magneti Marelli, CITIC Dicastal, Harman/Infinity, Kingfa Sci. & Tech., Baosteel, Autoliv, Magna, Yanfeng, BASF, SaarGummi, Michelin, and CATL.
