On May 8, 2026, Stellantis Group announced an expansion of its partnership with Chinese automaker Leapmotor into areas including joint procurement, shared production lines, and capacity optimization. Formed through the merger of Europe’s PSA Group and America’s FCA Group, Stellantis is headquartered in Europe and ranked fifth globally with 5.484 million vehicles sold worldwide in 2025. The group acquired a stake in Leapmotor in 2023 and co-founded the joint venture Leapmotor International. This deepened collaboration aims to enhance synergy in supply chain management, production line sharing, and capacity utilization to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen global market competitiveness. As of the announcement, Leapmotor has not issued a public response.
