Fuyao Group has added a new solar sunroof category to its official website's sunroof product lineup. This product integrates solar cells into the glass interlayer, converting sunlight into electricity to provide auxiliary power for in-vehicle electronics. According to an official promotional video, the product can generate 150 watts of power per square meter, sufficient to sustain ventilation systems, support connected car functions, and power dashcams. On March 27, 2024, Fuyao Glass stated on an interactive investor platform that it had already developed solar sunroof glass integrating photovoltaic cells and possesses mass production capabilities.
