On November 2, Tesla's official Robotaxi account posted a roughly 19-second video over Halloween weekend. In the video, a yellow Cybercab driverless taxi drives through nighttime streets, with green ambient lighting flickering inside, two skeletons seated in the seats, and no steering wheel in the steering wheel position. The video was filmed by a vehicle driving alongside. Tesla did not release it as a new Halloween mode or software feature. Earlier the same day, the account posted a reminder for users to take a Robotaxi home. A few days earlier, Tesla extended Robotaxi operating hours from midnight to 2 a.m., achieving 20-hour daily operation from 6:00 to 2:00 the next day. It also added a Share feature and a Calm Mode feature, and launched a first-ride-$0 experience campaign in Dallas and Houston. On June 22, the Cybercab made its debut in Austin. By early October, the number of Cybercabs exceeded 300, an 8-fold increase in one month. As of late October, the total Texas Robotaxi fleet was close to 1,000 vehicles, with Cybercabs accounting for nearly half. On April 18, Robotaxi service launched simultaneously in Dallas and Houston. On April 25, the Cybercab officially entered mass production at the Texas Gigafactory. Tesla was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. It listed on Nasdaq in 2020. The company's product line covers the Model 3/Y/S/X passenger vehicle series and the Cybercab driverless taxi. Robotaxi service currently covers cities including Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Miami.
