Recently, during a top-speed baseline test of the Yangwang U9X at a closed circuit in China, a crash occurred at over 400 km/h. Images show that after the impact, the front structure of the vehicle was shattered with components exposed, one side of the butterfly door was tilted upward, the door frame was damaged and cracked, and the body shell was torn in multiple places. The battery did not catch fire, the occupant compartment remained intact, and the driver was found to be in good condition after a comprehensive medical examination. The vehicle uses a self-developed super carbon cabin, built with a carbon fiber monocoque and combined with a carbon steel-aluminum hybrid structure. After the accident, the R&D team completed a review and recalibration and continued to push forward with testing, ultimately achieving a domestic top-speed record of 457.89 km/h. The Yangwang U9X features a larger front lip, a spoiler structure with downturned end plates, a through-flow hood, and a carbon fiber goose-neck rear wing. The braking system is equipped with titanium alloy brake calipers and carbon-ceramic brake discs. The chassis adopts the e4 Platform and DiSus-X control solutions; the e4 Platform can independently regulate torque at all four wheels hundreds of times per second, while DiSus-X uses an external dual-valve structure to adjust body attitude. For the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, the vehicle's electric braking algorithm has been optimized. In terms of power, the U9X features a full-domain 1200V platform, with four motors reaching a maximum speed of 30,000 rpm and a combined output exceeding 3,000 horsepower.
