The "2026 Schaeffler China Automotive Technology Symposium" was held in Suzhou from November 4 to 6. More than 800 automotive industry customers attended the event, which featured over 30 technical presentations, more than 500 product exhibits and over 10 test-drive vehicles, covering the passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle, two-wheeler and sports vehicle business areas. This symposium marks the first automotive technology symposium held in China since Schaeffler's merger with Vitesco Technologies. The symposium featured four technology themes: vehicle control, chassis and body, powertrain, and energy management. In the area of vehicle control, the company showcased its software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture product portfolio, including sensors and actuators, high- and low-voltage vehicle electrical systems, drive systems, edge controllers, zone control units (ZCU) and high-performance computers (HPC). In the chassis and body area, it presented fully active suspension technology, rear-wheel steering, steer-by-wire solutions, low-friction wheel bearings and contactless body entry technology. In the powertrain area, it displayed products covering hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), battery electric vehicles (BEV) and range-extended electric vehicles (REEV), including P1 generator modules, P1.5 generator/drive units, P1+P3 hybrid dedicated transmission solutions, as well as coaxial e-axles, electric drive units, reducers and transmission components, bearing solutions and power electronics. In the energy management area, it showcased thermal management systems based on new refrigerants and new power conversion products. In addition, the symposium presented the R&D and production of key subsystems and core components for humanoid robots, as well as technology applications for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) and electric conventional take-off and landing (eCTOL) aircraft. The Schaeffler Automotive Technology Symposium has been held every four years since the 1970s, and as of November 5, 2026, 13 editions have been held.
