On November 6 local time, Honda announced the official name of its next-generation all-electric SUV: the Honda Alpha. The new vehicle is scheduled to make its global debut in India on December 2, 2026, and will be produced entirely at an Indian plant going forward. India is the first market for the vehicle's launch and its production base for global markets. Honda Cars India announced the new model's name, launch date and production plan this week, and showcased a redesigned brand emblem specifically for next-generation all-electric models. The Honda Alpha will become the first mass-production vehicle sold by Honda in India to use the new H emblem. Honda said the name "Alpha" comes from the first letter of the Greek alphabet, symbolizing a new starting point in consumers' lives. The teaser image released this time is close in side profile to the Honda 0 α concept car previously unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show. Honda has not yet disclosed the technical specifications, battery capacity, range, pricing, or the launch timing and export destinations for markets outside India for the Honda Alpha.
