On the evening of November 7, 2026, Nissan Motor issued a statement via its official WeChat account, saying that recently, criminals have been impersonating "Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd." and relevant regulatory authorities to send fake recall text messages and forged recall documents to some Nissan car owners, with unofficial links and QR codes attached to trick owners into providing personal and vehicle information for telecom fraud. Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. stated that the above-mentioned text messages and documents are not official recall notices issued by Nissan, and reminded car owners not to click on suspicious links, scan unfamiliar QR codes, or provide ID card, bank card, verification code and other information to unknown channels. The statement also said that official recall notices will not, under any name, require car owners to make online transfers, pay fees, or submit bank card, SMS verification code or other private information. Nissan Motor advised that recall information can be verified through the official website of the Defective Product Recall Technology Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation (www.samrdprc.org.cn), authorized Nissan dealers, or official customer service channels. Regarding fraudulent acts carried out in the name of Nissan, Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will reserve the right to pursue all legal liabilities. Previously, automakers including SAIC-GM, BYD, AITO, BMW China, Volkswagen China, Li Auto and Volvo Cars had issued statements warning against fake recall text messages sent by criminals impersonating their brands.
