On November 3, Geely unveiled its new-generation methanol-electric hybrid technology, and the methanol-electric hybrid family sedan Galaxy Starshine 6 EF was officially launched, with a limited-time renewal price starting at 76,800 yuan. Geely has developed PHI pre-chamber high-energy ignition technology, achieving a successful single ignition at nearly minus 40 degrees Celsius; developed a methanol-resistant anti-corrosion material system for all vehicle models, with bench tests exceeding 1 million kilometers; and led or participated in more than 20 national and industry standards related to methanol. As of October 2026, Geely has put more than 60,000 methanol-electric vehicles into operation, with cumulative driving mileage exceeding 25 billion kilometers and the highest single-vehicle mileage reaching 1.8 million kilometers. The Galaxy Starshine 6 EF has a CLTC pure electric range of 230 kilometers and supports both methanol and gasoline refueling. Before being introduced to the private consumer market this time, more than 6,000 units of this model had already been deployed to the operating vehicle market. Foxconn recently released three reference vehicle models, namely MODEL A+, MODEL K+, and MODEL K, covering three segments: B-segment SUVs, youth-oriented models, and light commercial trucks for the Japanese market. All three models are built on Foxconn's open platform. This is the third concentrated release of reference models since the establishment of Foxconn's MIH open platform in 2021. According to an official announcement by Hon Hai Technology Group, Lin Yin, an investment company under Foxconn, will acquire a 50% stake in Mitsubishi Electric Mobility Corporation, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric, for a consideration of 115 billion yen (approximately 5.4 billion yuan), with the transaction expected to close in October 2027. Mitsubishi Electric disclosed in the announcement that the transaction is expected to generate a book loss of approximately 100 billion yen. The localization rate of parts at Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory has increased to 98%, with approximately 93.3% of the building area used for workshops. Designs such as the armrests and leg rests on the Model Y L seats were jointly developed by Tesla and Chinese suppliers. Data from the Passenger Car Market Information Joint Branch of the China Automobile Dealers Association shows that deliveries of Model 3 and Model Y produced at Tesla's Shanghai factory (including vehicles exported to Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and Canada) totaled 67,829 units in October, up 10.3% year on year; the year-on-year increase in September was 5%, marking the 12th consecutive month of year-on-year growth. As of the third quarter of 2026, Tesla's cumulative global deliveries have exceeded 10 million vehicles, with deliveries exceeding 480,000 units for two consecutive quarters. The new-generation Li L6 retailed 10,666 units in October. Positioned as a five-seat extended-range SUV, the model has an official guide price of 249,800 yuan and was released in July 2026. Since its launch in 2024, cumulative deliveries of the Li L6 have approached 400,000 units. On October 30, the 200,000th mass-produced Li i6 rolled off the production line. The 2026 Li i6 has a nationwide unified retail price of 249,800 yuan, with a limited-time launch benefit price of 239,800 yuan. The new vehicle comes standard with the self-developed Lianshan 5C battery with a capacity of 96 kWh, offering a CLTC range of 780 kilometers for the rear-wheel-drive version and 710 kilometers for the all-wheel-drive version. For assisted driving, it is equipped with the self-developed Mahe M100 chip; full-size zero-gravity seats are standard for both the driver and front passenger, and an electric front trunk is listed as standard. Li Auto stated that orders for the new vehicle within 72 hours of launch exceeded the level of the same period in the previous year's launch. Planned production capacity for the 2026 i6 is approximately 20,000 units in November and will be further increased in December. On November 5, the Audi Innovation Technology Center opened in Shanghai. The center was jointly established by Audi AG and SAIC Motor and specifically serves the AUDI brand. According to the plan, Audi and SAIC Motor will rely on the ADP 2.0 intelligent digital platform to jointly develop four all-new AUDI models, with the first new vehicle planned to be introduced to the market in 2028. In April 2026, Audi and SAIC Motor signed a strategic cooperation agreement; in September, the joint venture R&D entity completed registration and establishment.
