In the early hours of November 8, 2026, Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed on X that the company will further improve the Cybercab. Musk stated: "We will further improve energy efficiency, allowing the Cybercab to use a 40kWh battery pack. We will also introduce Liquid Silver." Earlier this week, Tesla announced it will cancel the Cybertruck production line at Giga Texas to free up capacity for producing more Cybercabs. The Cybercab currently deployed for Robotaxi operations in Austin, Texas, is equipped with a 48kWh battery pack. Musk stated: "If we continue to maintain the complex production line and supply chain for the Cybertruck, and also invest engineering personnel, we won't be able to use these manpower, factory space, and equipment to expand Cybercab production capacity."
