HAVAL has always been a leader in the Chinese SUV market, and even has a good performance in the global market. According to the strategy, HAVAL plans to achieve annual sales of 2 million units in five years, becoming the global professional No.1 SUV brand. At the same time, in the next five years, HAVAL will invest 30 billion yuan in research and development. In addition, according to the plan, by 2023, HAVAL will launch 20 models.

In 2018, Great Wall Motor sold a total of 1.053 million vehicles throughout the year. This is the third consecutive year that GW MOTOR has sold more than one million units. Among them, HAVAL sales accounted for nearly 73%, the cumulative sales of the year reached 766,000 units, once again won the Chinese SUV sales champion, and set a record for being the first top seller in eight consecutive years of China's SUV sales. At this point, HAVAL has achieved a global sales volume of over 5 million units, making it the fastest growing Chinese SUV brand.

HAVAL has grown at a rate of 110% since its launch in 2005. It has completed 1 million sales from 2005 to 2013, 2 million sales from 2013 to 2015, and 5 million sales from 2015 to 2018. It only took Haval 13 years. In the process, HAVAL also achieved the highest export volume in 31 countries and the highest market share of 17.5% in Chinese SUV market.

At present, HAVAL has 3 series of models: H series, M series and F series. Among them, the H series cover the most models, up to 7 models. And HAVAL H6 is definitely the best seller, with a total sale of 452,552 units in 2018. The F series are the new model series which was launched last year. It offered a younger and more high-end option.

The continuous increase in sales volume and the continuous innovation of good products are all due to the large investment in research and development, manufacturing and other fields. According to the data, HAVAL not only has a number of production bases and R&D centers in China, but also has six R&D centers in Japan, the United States, Germany, India, Austria and South Korea. Up to now, HAVAL has obtained 7,480 patents in more than 60 countries around the world, and has developed "China's top ten engines" and "China's first independent 7-speed dual-clutch transmission" and other products. In the first half of this year, the HAVAL Russian plant will be officially put into operation. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 150,000 units, and the first product will be the F7 model.

In the future, the HAVAL model will have many features such as SUV-coupe style, intelligent networking AI, and platform expansion. Among them, in terms of SUV-coupe style, it will have the SUV’s trafficability, sedan’s comfort and fastback fashion style, and in the intelligent networking AI, it will cover intelligent network platform, intelligent ecology and service and intelligent driving technology etc.

According to Wei Jianjun, chairman of GW Motor, HAVAL’s 5-2-1 globalization strategy is to plan to spend 5 years on accomplishing the sales target of 2 million units per year and becoming the No.1 professional SUV brand all around the world. In the next 5 years, HAVAL will invest 30 billion yuan in R&D. According to the plan, by 2022, HAVAL hydrogen-powered SUV will be unveiled at the Beijing Winter Olympics. By 2023, HAVAL will launch 20 models in the worldwide.

In the future, HAVAL will found a global alliance of Chinese automakers to accelerate the development of Chinese auto industry.
