New WEY VV5 to hit the market on Oct. 15

VV5 is a compact SUV owned by the WEY brand and has received much attention from consumers since its launch in 2017. IIA recently learned from Great Wall Motor that the new VV5 (2020) will be launched on October 15. The appearance of the new car was changed in the details, and the center console was replaced with a 12.3-inch floating display. The functions of intelligent interconnectivity and driving assistance were further enriched. In addition, the new car will continue to provide power of 1.5T and 2.0T for optional.

The new VV5 continues the design of the current model, but has been slightly upgraded in the details. The polygon blackened grille is integrated with the “WEY” LOGO. The LED headlights, the front fog lights and the side grille all adopt a new look. Together with the redesigned front and rear bumpers, the overall visual effect is younger and more aggressive.

The body side is still designed with a sleek, streamlined body that makes the overall sleek and smooth. The 19-inch wheels create a very sporty look. In the tail, the taillight design of the new car also uses a new style of LED light source, with a unique tail shape and electroplating double exhaust sports tailpipes to create a domineering visual effect.

In terms of interiors, the overall layout of the new VV5 center console continues the design of the current model, but has been changed in the details. The centrally controlled floating display has been upgraded from the current 9-inch to 12.3-inch, and is more technical with the 12.3-inch HD digital virtual dashboard. In addition, the new four-door inner guard and the sub-dashboard have also been replaced with new styles.

In terms of intelligent interconnectivity, the new car is equipped with instrument map, vehicle two-way WIFI, remote control, face recognition, intelligent voice upgrade, C+ smart interconnection and so on. In the active and passive safety configuration, it also equipped with ACC with queuing function, 360° full-image intelligent parking system with MOD lateral movement monitoring function and MEB low-speed emergency brake, and AEB and FCW system.

In terms of power, the new VV5 will be equipped with 1.5T and 2.0T engines for consumers to choose from, and they all meet the National-VI B emission standards. The 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 126 kW and a peak torque of 287 Nm, while the 2.0T engine 167 kW and 387 Nm. In terms of transmission, the new car will match the 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox.
