SGMW's exports in first two months increased by 258% YoY

In 2019, SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile exported a total of 72,691 sets (including complete vehicles and KD parts), an increase of 131% year-on-year. In 2020, the company will continue to improve its overseas market operation capabilities and launch more global models. On March 8, IIA learned from SAIC-GM-Wuling that the company exported a total of 14,078 vehicles from January to February this year, a significant increase of 258% compared with the same period last year.


In January this year, the sales volume of SAIC-GM-Wuling in overseas markets reached 6,481 units, an increase of about 203% year-on-year. Among them, the retail volume in the South American market was 1,525 units, a year-on-year increase of 134%. In addition, the retail volume of companies in the Indonesian market from January to February was 3,477 units, a year-on-year increase of 41%; the Indian market retailed from January to February to 18,309 units. The Indian version of Baojun 530 recently released a six-seater version, and confirmed 50,000 orders at the auto show.


On February 25, as the global strategic model of SAIC-GM-Wuling, the first batch of 478 Chinese original global cars Baojun 530 officially set off for the Middle East market. On March 3, 1,660 Chinese original global car Baojun 530 also arrived in Guangzhou Port and set sail for eight countries in the Middle East: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman.

The Baojun 530 is a global strategic model independently developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling with a completely independent intellectual property right. At present, this model uses the logos of four brands: Baojun, Wuling, Chevrolet, and MG. It is sold in China, Indonesia, South America, Thailand, India and other countries. It will also enter markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Mexico.
