Tesla recently launched the 2026 seven-seat Model Y in the U.S., but the third-row seating is only available as an option on the Premium all-wheel-drive high-end trim, starting at $51,490 (approximately RMB 360,000). Adding the seven-seat configuration requires an additional $2,500. The vehicle’s exterior remains unchanged from the current model, and the third row consists of compact child seats without any space optimization. Notably, the China-exclusive Model Y L has not been introduced in the U.S., disappointing some customers. Although Elon Musk has stated that Robotaxi will eventually replace three-row SUVs, the relevant product is still in early testing stages. The new Premium trim now comes standard with features previously exclusive to the Performance version, including a 16-inch high-resolution infotainment display and black headliner, and offers optional 20-inch graphite Helix wheels for $2,000.
