Tesla has recently revised its Supercharger idle fee policy to enhance user experience and charging efficiency. Under the new rules, a fee of RMB 6.4 per minute will only be charged when a vehicle remains parked at a Supercharger stall after reaching full charge—and only if the station is fully occupied. Additionally, the grace period has been extended from 5 minutes to 20 minutes: if drivers leave within 20 minutes after the idle fee starts accruing, no charge will be applied. Tesla emphasized that this adjustment is not intended for profit but rather to encourage users to promptly vacate stalls, thereby improving resource utilization. Through the Tesla app, owners can receive notifications when charging is complete and remotely monitor their vehicle’s status. Looking ahead, the company envisions implementing an automated vehicle departure feature; however, until this technology becomes available, Tesla urges users to actively cooperate in maintaining an efficient charging environment.
