The 2026 Mazda CX-5 has officially debuted with a starting price of $31,485 (including the $1,495 destination fee)—just $940 more than the 2025 model. The new CX-5 features sharper styling and a 4.5-inch longer body, offering more spacious seating and cargo room. It retains the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower. Although Mazda hasn’t released the full trim details yet, certain premium paint options will carry an additional $595 charge. Priced competitively against rivals, the CX-5 undercuts the Toyota RAV4 ($33,350), Honda CR-V ($32,370), and Volkswagen Tiguan ($32,840), and is only slightly more expensive than the Mazda CX-50, which starts at $31,395. While its base price is modestly higher than the Kia Sportage’s starting MSRP of $30,285, the CX-5 remains a compelling value in the compact SUV segment thanks to its well-rounded performance and accessible pricing. Mazda also plans to introduce a hybrid version to further enhance its competitiveness.
