Tesla has recently updated its Supercharger idle fee policy. Under the new rules, a fee of RMB 6.4 per minute will be charged only when all charging stalls at a station are occupied and a vehicle remains parked after reaching a full charge. The complimentary grace period has been extended from 5 minutes to 20 minutes—meaning drivers who leave within 20 minutes after completing their charge will not incur any fees. Tesla emphasized that this adjustment aims to improve charging efficiency and user experience, not to generate additional revenue. The company also stated that it hopes to eventually implement a feature enabling vehicles to automatically depart once fully charged; however, until such technology becomes available, Tesla urges users to proactively vacate charging spots after use, similar to how gasoline-powered vehicles promptly leave after refueling.
