On January 14, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi Auto, announced that Xiaomi's first all-electric SUV, the YU7, successfully completed a 24-hour endurance challenge, making Xiaomi the first Chinese automaker to achieve this milestone. During the challenge, the vehicle only paused for charging; otherwise, drivers were rotated without stopping the car, continuously testing its triple electric systems (battery, motor, and electronics), braking, and suspension. The YU7 features fixed calipers across all trims and a quadruple-redundant braking system, paired with a front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension setup, delivering both agile handling and ride comfort. Lei Jun emphasized that Xiaomi adheres to a "tenfold investment" philosophy to deliver a premium driving experience. Since its market launch six months ago, the YU7 has delivered over 150,000 units—2.3 times the volume of the SU7 during the same period—setting a new record in China’s new energy SUV segment.
