Toyota has further solidified its position as the world's top-selling automaker. In the first 11 months of 2025, the Toyota Group—including Toyota, Lexus, Daihatsu, and Hino—sold a total of 10,327,976 vehicles, up 4.8% year-over-year. Although full-year figures have not yet been released, this already significantly surpasses Volkswagen Group’s total 2025 deliveries of 8.98 million units, which declined slightly by 0.5% year-on-year. Both Audi and the Volkswagen brand reported declining sales. Meanwhile, Hyundai and Kia together sold 7.27 million vehicles, firmly holding third place globally, with a target of reaching 7.51 million units in 2026. Toyota plans to launch several new models in 2026, including an updated Hilux, an affordable Land Cruiser FJ, and the sixth-generation RAV4. Volkswagen, meanwhile, is focusing on electrification and plans to introduce new EVs in Europe, such as the ID. Polo, priced below €25,000.
