On January 14, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) jointly convened a symposium with new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturers, explicitly calling for a firm rejection of disorderly "price wars." The meeting emphasized the need to uphold innovation-driven development and quality-first principles to foster a market order characterized by premium pricing for high-quality products and fair competition. Participants included the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and 17 key automakers. The three departments pledged to enhance coordination, strengthen cost investigations, price monitoring, and oversight of production consistency, and will take strict legal action against companies that violate regulations, thereby safeguarding market fairness and promoting high-quality industry development.
