Acura has announced it will discontinue the RDX compact luxury SUV later this year, ending its 19-year sales run in the U.S. market, with no new models planned for 2027. However, the brand confirmed that a fourth-generation RDX will arrive “within a year or two,” featuring a dual-motor hybrid system similar to the one in the MDX, and has already released design teaser images. Although the current RDX received a refresh in 2024, its 2025 sales have declined significantly, overtaken by the smaller ADX and the larger MDX. Customers now have alternatives including the ADX, the three-row MDX, and the all-new electric RSX launched this year. While the RDX is temporarily exiting the lineup, its hybrid successor is certainly worth anticipating.
