F1 World Champion Max Verstappen recently surprised fans by test-driving the unreleased 2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC in an official Red Bull YouTube video. The clip explicitly described the car as “the most advanced, most powerful, and most track-capable Dark Horse ever.” Speculation suggests that the “SC” likely stands for Supercharger, indicating the model will feature a supercharged V8 engine—filling the market gap between the naturally aspirated Dark Horse and the high-priced, limited-production Mustang GTD. Drawing comparisons to the Shelby Super Snake, which shares the same platform and produces 830 horsepower, the Dark Horse SC is expected to deliver performance levels approaching or even surpassing those of the GTD. If priced at roughly half the cost of the GTD, it could become a high-value “horsepower monster,” appealing to enthusiasts seeking extreme performance on a more modest budget. Ford has not yet released any official details about the vehicle.
