According to Axalta's latest report, white remains the most popular car color in the U.S. in 2025, accounting for 29% of vehicles—slightly down from 33% in 2024 but still firmly holding the top spot. Black follows closely at 23%, gray accounts for 22%, and silver drops to just 7%. Among non-neutral colors, blue performs best but still only represents 6% of the market. Globally, neutral tones continue to dominate: 35% of buyers in South America choose white, gray leads in Europe (26%), and black is preferred in Asia (26%). However, interest in vibrant hues such as yellow, gold, green, and purple is rising in Asia, while red, brown/beige, green, and yellow/gold have also seen modest growth in the U.S. Axalta experts note that although neutral colors still dominate the market, consumers are becoming increasingly open to automotive finishes that offer greater individuality and sophistication.
